Olayinka Thomas

Principal

Olayinka Thomas is the Principal at Potter`s Touch High School Yenagoa Bayelsa State, Nigeria. He holds a Masters in Educational Planning and Administration and several certifications, including LearnMoodle3.7, Apple Teacher and Connecting Classrooms. As a teacher, he has over two decades experience in actual classroom interactions with students of varying age groups and learning capabilities. He is a passionate administrator and teachers’ trainer. He had worked with several international schools in Nigeria, including D-Ivy College and Olashore International School as a member of the senior management team. He has done extensive work on Activity Based Learning, Formative Assessment Strategies, Learner`s Progress Charting, Students` Data Triangulation, Technology Enhanced Learning and Sustainable Continuous Professional Development Programme. In recognition of his outstanding work with the Connecting Classrooms programme of the British Council, he was invited to speak at the School Now! 2020 conference in Cairo Egypt. He has also worked as a member of the steering committee for British Council`s Partner School Global Network (PSGN) in Nigeria. He is an examiner with several National and International examination organisations. He has been an examiner of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) since 2009. Olayinka Thomas worked with an NGO, Jewels of Africa to train teachers across Nigeria in Basic pedagogical skills, Teaching the Core-skills and other relevant 21st Century skills. He had led the team of trainers to several states in the country since 2018. He had also given training to teachers as a Lead Facilitator of Association of International School Educators in Nigeria (AISEN) CPD workshops. In October 2022, he led the sessions at the AISEN School Leaders Conference and Retreat. He is a cofounder of Inspiring and Learning Teachers Network (ILTN).
