New Speakers Confirmed for GESS Leaders EdTech Summit Dubai

We are thrilled to announce the second lineup of exciting confirmed speakers for the GESS Leaders EdTech Summit Dubai. The two day event will be hosted by the Middle East School Leadership Conference at the Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre on 24 - 25 November 2020 and is exclusive for leading educators who directly influence purchasing, owners of schools and influencers who direct school strategy and training in the EdTech sphere.

Meet The New Speakers

Stephen Cox, Chief Education Officer, New Nordic School

Stephen is a successful international leader having worked over 20 years in the government and private educational sectors. He has worked at a senior board level leading year on year improvement in all aspects of leadership, change management, professional development, coaching, innovation, start-up, digital strategy and future of learning in the MENA region, Finland and internationally.

Raya Bidshahri, Founder & CEO, Awecademy 

Raya Bidshahri is a serial entrepreneur, author, futurist and keynote speaker. As the Founder & CEO of Awecademy, Raya is one of the world’s leading experts alternative models in education, the future of work and exponential innovation. She has been featured by the BBC as one of the 100 most influential and inspirational women globally and is a member of the Bett Global Education Council. Raya has been described as a techno-optimist, a communicator of popular science, and an advocate of curiosity, critical thinking, wonder, and awe.
 
Philippa Wraithmell, Head of Digital Education & Strategy, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi
 
 
Philippa Wraithmell is the Head of Digital Education and strategy at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi.  Formally Head of Computing and Digital Literacy at an Apple Distinguished 1:1 Device school in the UAE. She became an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2019 after leading the school to Apple Distinguished that year, delivering whole school training build around digital technology teaching and learning. This spanned teachers from FS1-YR12.  In addition to this Philippa works with educators across the Emirates to support them to deliver digital learning as well as more recently remote learning. Philippa has a drive and passion to educate staff, parents and students on digital safety, underpinning everything she does in schools who deliver digital learning.  Meaningful use of education technology is of upmost importance in the delivery to all students in and out of the classroom. In 2020 Philippa won a GESS education award for Innovation in Learning and is very much looking forward to sharing and learning further with other educators. Philippa has been a teacher and leader in primary and secondary schools for 12 years, both in the UK and the UAE.  She has a background in STEAM and Fashion design graduating from Nottingham Trent University.
 
Niall Statham, Member of Senior Leadership Team, Hartland International School Dubai
 
 

Niall Statham is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Hartland International School Dubai and Head of Whole School PE. A former UAE Rugby 7s and 15s captain, he now spends his days ushering in the next generation of athletes. His key area of interest within health and wellbeing is driving participation within youth sport and exercises, helping people build a lifelong positive association with sport. Niall has also served as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Dubai Affiliated School Sports Association and has been a serving committee member for over 5 years.
